Norwood Green

Welcome to Met Engage,

We're transforming the Met to become a service that truly delivers for you.

Through our new platform Met Engage you can get to know your local officers, help shape how we police your local area and have direct access to key information and advice.

This isn't just a platform for us to tell you what we're doing in your area, it's an opportunity for you to tell us what's concerning you most so we can take action on the things that truly matter to you.

Norwood Green Safer Neighbourhoods Team

Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

To contact to your team about local policing issues, email us at NorwoodGreen@contact.metengage.co.uk or pick an officer to email below. (Please do not use this contact method to report crime, in an emergency always call 999 or you can report crime online at www.met.police.uk or dial 101).

Local Priority Issues

We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:

Priority Action taken

Reduce incidents of violence, particularly against vulnerable individuals, including the homeless community taking shelter in the Havelock Estate.

Issued 15 January 2026

•Targeted Patrols: Increase uniformed and plainclothes patrols in hotspot areas during peak times.

•Partnership Working: Collaborate with local charities and outreach services to provide support and alternative housing options for the homeless community.

•Drug Enforcement: Conduct intelligence-led stop-and-search operations/patrols and execute warrants on suspected drug suppliers.

•Community Engagement: Hold monthly resident meetings to encourage reporting and build trust with the community – Community Contact Sessions.

•Environmental Design: Work with the council to improve estate lighting, remove fly-tipped waste promptly, and explore CCTV installation.

Update - The team have been working in joint partnership with Chiswick NPT and Thames Valley Police locating and arresting x5 males linked to several Thefts and Robberies across London and TVP. The team have also been working in partnership with the local authority. Just in Southall alone we have assisted in the removal x161 abandoned vehicles linked to ASB. We continue to work with LBE on clear outs within the estate and charities such as St Mungo's to offer support to the homeless.

We hold regular touch in sessions at the Community Shop on Hunt Road to reach out to the community.

Anti-social Behaviour and Drugs, Vehicle Nuisance, Speeding - Minterne Estate

Issued 15 January 2026

•Traffic Enforcement: Conduct Police Operations to target Speeding Vehicles –.

•ASB Dispersal Powers: Use Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) and dispersal notices against offenders. CPWs and CPNs also considered and used previously.

•Intelligence-Led Policing: Gather information from residents and use targeted patrols to deter and disrupt illegal activities.

•Community reporting: try to engage with Local Residents to encourage them to report issues/share information of incidents that they have come across/witnessed. These Reports then can help SNT Raise Concerns if a certain location appears to have multiple incidents to the SNT to flag issues confidentially.

Update - We have created OP Overvolt with the aim of doing this at least once a month. This is to target illegal E-bikes / Scooters and those who speed using powers of seizure where possible. Great result in January with an e-bike rider failing to stop for police, located and arrested for selling class A drugs.

Anti-Social Behaviour and Drugs, Vehicle Nuisance, Speeding at Windmill Lane and Osterley Lane

Issued 15 January 2026

•High-Visibility Patrols: Increase police presence in affected areas, particularly during evenings and weekends.

•Speed Enforcement: Traffic Enforcement: Conduct Police Operations to target Speeding Vehicles – Consider Op CUBO type of Operations particularly during peak hours.

•Lighting and Surveillance: Work with the council to improve street lighting and explore potential CCTV installation.

•Youth Engagement: Try to Locate Local Youth Services to deter young people from engaging in ASB and substance misuse. Potential Group Talk/Work with these facilities if permitted.

•Criminal Disruption: Conduct vehicle stops, issue fines, and seize vehicles involved in ASB.

Update - Op Overvolt will continue to target speeding. The team will continue to be as present as possible in this location to deter and proactively deal with ASB / Offences. The team have recently got a male convicted x6 for Breach of CBO contributing to ASB within this location.
