Barnes Safer Neighbourhoods Team
Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.
To contact to your team about local policing issues, email us at Barnes@contact.metengage.co.uk or pick an officer to email below. (Please do not use this contact method to report crime, in an emergency always call 999 or you can report crime online at www.met.police.uk or dial 101).

| Priority | Action taken |
|---|---|
|
Violent Crime - Violent crime remains a top priority for the Barnes Safer Neighbourhood Team, specifically VAWG related offences and violence targeting school children around school finish times. Concerns were also raised about potential incidents around Hammersmith Bridge. Issued 25 September 2025 |
Targeted patrols during school finish times in areas known for issues. Actioned 05 November 2025 |
|
Anti-Social Behaviour - During September PLG meeting, it was agreed with residents that ASB would remain a ward priority. Particular concern was expressed around anti-social behaviour on Castelnau and around Hammersmith Bridge. Both areas see high footfall and have a lot of people passing through and there has been previous incidents around anti-social behaviour in these locations. Issued 25 September 2025 |
Officers will continue to conduct regular patrols of anti-social behaviour hotspots. Engagement with local councillors and partners regarding issues raised by residents. PCSOs tasked with community engagement activity to speak with local residents directly and better understand concerns. Actioned 05 November 2025 |
|
Burglary - Agreed at September PLG meeting that burglary would remain a ward priority, residents expressed concern that owing to the longer evenings during autumn/winter, that burglary offences would increase. Issued 25 September 2025 |
