Longlands
Welcome to Met Engage,
We're transforming the Met to become a service that truly delivers for you.
Through our new platform Met Engage you can get to know your local officers, help shape how we police your local area and have direct access to key information and advice.
This isn't just a platform for us to tell you what we're doing in your area, it's an opportunity for you to tell us what's concerning you most so we can take action on the things that truly matter to you.
Longlands Safer Neighbourhoods Team
Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.
To contact to your team about local policing issues, email us at Longlands@contact.metengage.co.uk or pick an officer to email below. (Please do not use this contact method to report crime, in an emergency always call 999 or you can report crime online at www.met.police.uk or dial 101).

Local Priority Issues
We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:
Priority | Action taken |
---|---|
ASB - this is more specifically in relation to youth and the school children. As we are now in school summer holidays, rowdy or inconsiderate behaviour will likely increase and needs to be addressed and prevented. This is in attempts to avoid any disturbance amongst the local area which tends to affect neighbours as highlighted in the ward panel. Visible vehicle and foot patrols will occur through out the shifts to prevent and deter any Anti social behaviour. Issued 17 July 2025 |
Visible vehicle and foot patrols will occur through out the shifts to prevent and deter any Anti social behaviour. Actioned 29 October 2025 |
Drug offences - This is more specifically focusing on drug issues on the Longlands ward. With the school summer holidays in phase and the nice weather bringing more people outside and using parks, there is a likely chance drug consumption and use could increase. Local residents want a focus on all drugs and more importantly cannabis use in the area as it effects everyone in the vicinity. This has been highlighted at the ward panel. Stop and searches along with foot and vehicle patrols will take place when necessary to deter, prevent and address these issues. Issued 17 July 2025 |
Stop and searches along with foot and vehicle patrols will take place when necessary to deter, prevent and address these issues. Warrants may be carried out at addresses identified as involved in drug dealing. Any persons caught with drugs will be dealt with by various diversionary tactics and judicial methods, including the use of Community Resolution, Penalty Notice for Disorder, Caution, Charged and sent to Court. Actioned 29 October 2025 |
Motor Vehicle Offences - This is in relation to all motor vehicle offences, including traffic offences such as speeding, no insurance and not in accordance with a driving licence along with theft of a motor vehicle and theft from a motor vehicle. Patrols and using local intelligence to address these issues will take place throughout our shifts to combat these problems. This has also been selected by ward panel members as they feel local residents are affected by these issues. Issued 17 July 2025 |
Patrols and using local intelligence to address these issues will take place throughout our shifts to combat these problems. We will conduct road checks and utilise our systems to check on insurance and driving licenses. People that steal from motor vehicles and steal motor vehicles will be targeted via pro-active patrols and intelligence led operations. Offenders will be brought to justice via arrest and outcomes including a Police Caution, Charges and sent to Court. Actioned 29 October 2025 |
The word cloud below represents the issues raised by residents through their Local Matters survey. We take this into consideration along with discussions with stakeholders, ward panel meetings and conversations with the public when setting our key priorities
