South Croydon Safer Neighbourhoods Team

Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

Local Priority Issues

We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:

Burglary Residential and commercial burglaries have a significant impact on victims and the wider community, causing emotional distress, financial loss, and a sense of insecurity. Recent incidents and community feedback indicate burglary remains a concern in the ward. Issued 17 February 2026	Conduct regular high-visibility patrols in burglary hotspot areas, especially during peak times (e.g. evenings and early mornings). Work with local residents and Neighbourhood Watch groups to promote crime prevention advice, including securing homes, installing CCTV, and reporting suspicious activity. Deliver burglary prevention leaflets and host pop-up crime prevention stalls at community hubs. Identify and monitor known offenders and work with partners to disrupt criminal activity.
