Fairfield

Welcome to Met Engage,

We're transforming the Met to become a service that truly delivers for you.

Through our new platform Met Engage you can get to know your local officers, help shape how we police your local area and have direct access to key information and advice.

This isn't just a platform for us to tell you what we're doing in your area, it's an opportunity for you to tell us what's concerning you most so we can take action on the things that truly matter to you.

Fairfield Safer Neighbourhoods Team

Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

To contact to your team about local policing issues, email us at Fairfield@contact.metengage.co.uk or pick an officer to email below. (Please do not use this contact method to report crime, in an emergency always call 999 or you can report crime online at www.met.police.uk or dial 101).

Local Priority Issues

We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:

Priority Action taken

Drug dealing

Issued 24 September 2025

Op Martello is a home office project to target violence and weapons in Croydon town centre. This has led to increased patrols by Fairfield and Town Centre Team officers and more stop and searches of individuals concerned in the drugs trade.
150 searches have been conducted in the month since the ward panel.
Officers are using intelligence submitted by the public to target vehicles used by dealers and suspicious activity.
Church Road and Howley Road have been identified by residents as being used for dealing and increased patrols will be made in this area.

Actioned 28 October 2025

Anti-social behaviour across the ward and enforcing the Public Spaces Protection order in the town centre

Issued 24 September 2025

There has been continual enforcement of the PSPO to address anti-social behaviour across the ward. This has led to multiple CPNW's and CPN's being issued to repeat offenders within the area.
There will be patrols in the area to address ASB across Fairfield ward. The team has been made aware of a suspect targeting windscreen wipers and has conducted late night patrols.
West Croydon has been raised as an area of concern for increased targeting due to street drinking.

Actioned 28 October 2025

Violence against Women and Girls. Offences that target and have a disproportionate effect on female victims

Issued 24 September 2025

Safer business week is in November and the team will be conducting on 14th November Bike marking on the walkway by Boxpark and HMRC near East Croydon.

Officers conduct patrols of transport hubs and enforce the PSPO where appropriate.
Officers hold public meetings such as cuppa with a copper where residents can speak to the team about any concerns.
Op Veyvah - a hi visibility pedestrian safety operation targeting the use of illegal e-bikes and e-scooters is conducted on a regular basis.

Actioned 28 October 2025

The word cloud below represents the issues raised by residents through their Local Matters survey. We take this into consideration along with discussions with stakeholders, ward panel meetings and conversations with the public when setting our key priorities
