We're transforming the Met to become a service that truly delivers for you.

Through our new platform Met Engage you can get to know your local officers, help shape how we police your local area and have direct access to key information and advice.

This isn't just a platform for us to tell you what we're doing in your area, it's an opportunity for you to tell us what's concerning you most so we can take action on the things that truly matter to you.

Custom House Safer Neighbourhoods Team

Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

Local Priority Issues

We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:

Drugs Drug dealing and drug use will be an ongoing issue in all areas of London. The Team are well versed in warrant executions and will developing information for warrant applications. They will also be actively patrolling areas identified by the Ward Panel Chair and members of the public. Issued 05 February 2026	Utilise Stop and Search tactics in areas that have been highlighted by members of the public as drug hotspots. Gather intel on suspected drug dealers - Seek authority to execute said warrants on premises suspected of housing dealers and their drugs. Actioned 05 February 2026
Youth Engagement The Ward Panel are keen for police to break barriers with children of primary school age so they feel comfortable with police in the future Issued 05 February 2026	Visit primary schools during term time to discuss street safety. initiate a challenge Police initiative. Burglary There has ben an increase in residential burglaries in both Custom House and Beckton Wards Issued 05 February 2026	We are to patrol areas likely to be targeted. Liaise with CID to assist with investigations. Identify leads, that may result in the identification of the burglar Actioned 05 February 2026
