West Green

Welcome to Met Engage,

We're transforming the Met to become a service that truly delivers for you.

Through our new platform Met Engage you can get to know your local officers, help shape how we police your local area and have direct access to key information and advice.

This isn't just a platform for us to tell you what we're doing in your area, it's an opportunity for you to tell us what's concerning you most so we can take action on the things that truly matter to you.

West Green Safer Neighbourhoods Team

Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

To contact to your team about local policing issues, email us at WestGreen@contact.metengage.co.uk or pick an officer to email below. (Please do not use this contact method to report crime, in an emergency always call 999 or you can report crime online at www.met.police.uk or dial 101).

Local Priority Issues

We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:

Priority Action taken

Priority 1: Theft From Motor Vehicles – Turnpike Lane Area

Reduce incidents of theft from motor vehicles in and around the Turnpike Lane transport and shopping area, where offending has concentrated in recent months.

Issued 06 December 2025

• Conduct high-visibility patrols during identified peak times to provide reassurance and deter offending.
• Implement plain-clothes patrols targeting known hotspots such as car parks, side streets and commuter routes.
• Work with local businesses, TfL and parking operators to promote crime-prevention messaging, including vehicle-security advice and signage.
• Task the team to conduct targeted stop and account/stop and search activity where grounds exist, focusing on known offenders and linked nominals.

Priority 3: Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour – Turnpike Lane Area and Transport Hubs

Objective:
Reduce anti-social behaviour (ASB) in the Turnpike Lane area, including key transport hubs such as the bus station, tube station and surrounding streets, where persistent issues impact commuters, businesses and residents.

Issued 06 December 2025

• Conduct regular high-visibility patrols at peak ASB times to provide reassurance and deter nuisance behaviour.
• Work jointly with Transport for London (TfL), bus station staff and local businesses to identify emerging issues and coordinate responses.
• Use appropriate ASB legislation and enforcement tools (CPWs/CPNs, dispersal powers where authorised) to challenge repeat offenders.
• Engage with support services to signpost vulnerable individuals, including those with substance-misuse or homelessness needs.
• Maintain a visible presence during school-leaving times to prevent youth-related ASB.

Actioned 06 December 2025

Priority 2: Robberies and Snatch Thefts – Downhills Park and Surrounding Area

Reduce incidents of robbery and snatch thefts occurring in and around Downhills Park, including adjoining paths, residential roads and commuter routes.

Issued 06 December 2025

• Deploy focused high-visibility patrols at key times identified through crime analysis (after-school hours, early evenings, weekends).
• Conduct plain-clothes operations to identify and disrupt offenders targeting park users and pedestrians.
• Work with Haringey Council, Parks officers and community groups to improve environmental security, including lighting, sightlines and signage.
• Engage with local schools and youth providers to deliver crime-prevention advice and early-intervention messaging.
• Task officers to proactively identify, stop and investigate individuals matching suspect descriptions or linked to recent offences.
