Valence

Welcome to Met Engage,

We're transforming the Met to become a service that truly delivers for you.

Through our new platform Met Engage you can get to know your local officers, help shape how we police your local area and have direct access to key information and advice.

This isn't just a platform for us to tell you what we're doing in your area, it's an opportunity for you to tell us what's concerning you most so we can take action on the things that truly matter to you.

Valence Safer Neighbourhoods Team

Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

To contact to your team about local policing issues, email us at Valence@contact.metengage.co.uk or pick an officer to email below. (Please do not use this contact method to report crime, in an emergency always call 999 or you can report crime online at www.met.police.uk or dial 101).

Local Priority Issues

We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:

Priority Action taken

The Met is working tirelessly, using a range of tactics and technologies, to tackle and prevent violence.

Bearing down on violent crime on the streets of London is a top priority for the Met, which is why we are working tirelessly to identify and pursue offenders, help bring perpetrators to justice, support victims, engage and reassure the public, and keep our communities safe.
Priority - tackling street violence across Valence Ward.

Issued 18 June 2026

The Met is working tirelessly, using a range of tactics and technologies, to tackle and prevent violence. The team conduct uniformed and plain clothes patrols and engagement to tackle violence related offences in targeted hotspot areas.

Actioned 01 October 2026

Valence SNT have conducted targeted patrols around The Fiddlers after reports of street drinking and possible drug dealing. Valence officers continue to conduct targeted patrols in the area including Becontree Avenue, Green Lane and Motts Lane.

Valence SNT are aware there are a group of street drinkers who congregate outside William Hill and continue to pay attention and deal with any incidents accordingly.

As there is not a PSPO in force police are not able to issue penalties to those seen drinking on the street, however the team are working closely with staff at William Hill and other premises to reduce ASB in the area.

Issued 18 June 2026

Valence SNT conduct targeted patrols around The Fiddlers area after reports of street drinking and possible drug dealing. Valence officers continue to conduct targeted patrols in the area, including Becontree Avenue, Green Lane and Motts Lane. CPW's will be issued as part of a graduated response.

Dealing with ASB caused by E-scooters and E-bikes within Valence Ward, specifically in Valence Park and the surrounding roads.

Issued 18 June 2026

Regular marked and unmarked patrols are conducted throughout the shift to prevent and detect offences, along with visits to business premises in the area. Officers are also holding Crime Prevention stalls and VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls) events in this area and will focus on Valence Park and surrounding roads as an area of high foot fall where the dangers posed form E Scooters and bikes are likely to be greater.
