Through our new platform Met Engage you can get to know your local officers, help shape how we police your local area and have direct access to key information and advice.

This isn't just a platform for us to tell you what we're doing in your area, it's an opportunity for you to tell us what's concerning you most so we can take action on the things that truly matter to you.

Valence Safer Neighbourhoods Team

Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

Local Priority Issues

We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:

Met priority - Street based violence - PMP/84910/24 Issued 16 September 2026	The Met is working tirelessly, using a range of tactics and technologies, to tackle and prevent violence. The team conduct uniformed and plain clothes patrols and engagement to tackle violence related offences in targeted hotspot areas. Bearing down on violent crime on the streets of London is a top priority for the MPS, the team work to identify and pursue offenders, help bring perpetrators to justice, support victims, engage and reassure the public, and keep our communities safe. Street drinking/ Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) - The Fiddlers (Becontree Avenue, Green Lane and Motts Lane) - PMP/84898/24 Issued 16 September 2026	Valence SNT conduct targeted patrols around The Fiddlers area after reports of street drinking and possible drug dealing. Valence officers continue to conduct targeted patrols in the area, including Becontree Avenue, Green Lane and Motts Lane. CPW's will be issued as part of a graduated response. Valence SNT are aware there are a group of street drinkers who congregate outside William Hill and other businesses causing concern for the public and business owners. Planned patrols are in place to deal with these concerns. Actioned 10 January 2027
Drug dealing – Across the ward with particular attention towards Stanhope Road and Becontree Avenue - PMP/19798/26 Issued 16 September 2026	Regular marked and unmarked/plain clothes patrols are conducted to prevent and detect offences. Officers are also holding Crime Prevention stalls and engagement stalls in addition to VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls) events in this area and will focus on the Stanhope and Becontree Ave areas as highlighted by members of the public. Patrols will be intelligence led, utilising information and intelligence provided by the public and partners. Actioned 10 January 2027
