Clissold Safer Neighbourhoods Team

Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

Local Priority Issues

We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:

Priority	Action taken
Robberies and phone snatch thefts have been on the rise across all North Hackney Wards. We will be working in conjunction with other North Cluster ward officers to tackle this issue. Issued 15 July 2026	We will work on reducing the number of robberies and theft from the person offences that are occurring across Clissold, with a focus on the areas around Clissold Park, Albion Road, Matthias Road and Butterfield Green. We will be utilising a mixture of plain clothes and high visibility patrols, with officers on buses, foot, cycle and within vehicles. Actioned 21 October 2026
We are targeting reports of drug dealing and anti-social behaviour in and around the area of Cowper Road/Wordsworth Road. Issued 15 July 2026	We will ensure that these areas are included in our daily patrols and anyone committing offences will be dealt with accordingly. Actioned 21 October 2026
Cycling and e-scooter/e-bike related offences. E bikes and scooters present an ongoing issue throughout Hackney as well as on Clissold Ward. We will be running several operations tackling the use of illegal e-bikes and scooters used on roads, pedestrian walkways and within Clissold Park, seizing and issuing tickets were required. Issued 15 July 2026	We will be seizing and ticketing those we stop as necessary. Actioned 21 October 2026
