Police Action Day Targets Woolwich Town Centre ASB and Reassures Community

Woolwich Officers carried out a Action Day in the town centre as part of ongoing efforts to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB) and improve the safety of residents, businesses and visitors. Throughout the operation, officers conducted high-visibility patrols, engaged with members of the public and local businesses, and targeted individuals involved in behaviour causing concern within the community. The action day focused on addressing issues such as nuisance behaviour, street drinking, drug-related activity and other offences that negatively impact those who live, work and visit the area. A male was arrested for being Wanted on warrant and officers conducted a number of stop and searches for drugs.

The operation provided an opportunity for officers to gather intelligence, identify repeat offenders and take positive action where necessary. The increased police presence was well received by members of the public, who welcomed the proactive approach to keeping the town centre safe and welcoming.

These targeted operations demonstrate the commitment of local policing teams to listening to community concerns and taking robust action against those who engage in anti-social behaviour. Officers will continue to work alongside partner agencies and local businesses to ensure the town centre remains a safe environment for everyone.

Anyone with information about crime or anti-social behaviour is encouraged to report it to police so that concerns can be addressed and appropriate action taken.
