Drugs Warrant Executed in Vanguard Street, SE8 by SNT.

Officers from the Brockley & Deptford Safer Neighbourhood Teams executed a drugs warrant at an address in the Vanguard Street, SE8 area this morning, following intelligence-led policing activity.

During the operation, officers recovered a number of weapons, including a sword, a zombie knife, and an imitation firearm. A significant quantity of suspected controlled drugs and large amount of cash was also seized.

One male was arrested at the scene and remains in custody at a South London police station while enquiries continue.

This warrant was the result of intelligence gathered through proactive patrols and information provided by members of the local community. Officers have been listening to concerns raised by residents and taking targeted action to tackle the drug-related activity and antisocial behaviour that have been impacting the area. It is suspected that this address was responsible for bringing drug users to the local area in large groups.

The Met remains committed to disrupting criminal activity, removing dangerous weapons and drugs from our streets, and making neighbourhoods safer for residents, businesses, and visitors.

Drug dealing is often linked with violent crime and the exploitation of vulnerable people, and discarded drug equipment can be a health risk and counts as antisocial behaviour.

We’ve put hundreds more officers on the frontlines of community crime-fighting teams, upping visible patrols in the right ‘hot spots’ so we can deter and catch criminals.

We are committed to tackling drug dealing wherever we find it. It forms a key part of our recently published ASB Action Plan. We will keep you updated on our efforts to do this in your area, but if you have any concerns or evidence, it is important you report this as soon as possible.
