Ruislip & Ickenham Safer Neighbourhood Teams Update |
Dear Residents, Keeping Ruislip and Ickenham safe is our priority. Over the past few months, your local Safer Neighbourhood Teams have been carrying out targeted operations, engaging with residents, and tackling the issues that matter most to our community. We would like to share some of the work that has been taking place across the area and thank residents for their continued support.
Tackling Vehicle CrimeOfficers have been proactive in identifying and recovering stolen vehicles across the ward. Through targeted intelligence-led policing and partnership working, a number of stolen vehicles have been located, seized, and removed from our streets. Vehicle crime remains a priority for the team, and we continue to focus efforts on disrupting offenders and protecting residents' property. Removing Weapons from Our StreetsKeeping our communities safe from violence remains a key focus. During patrols and operational activity, officers have successfully seized a number of weapons, helping to prevent potential harm and ensuring dangerous items are removed from circulation. Visible Patrols in Key AreasResidents will have seen an increased police presence through targeted patrols on Ruislip High Street, Ickenham Village, and around Ruislip Lido. These patrols have been aimed at tackling anti-social behaviour, deterring crime, reassuring the public, and engaging with local businesses and visitors. We understand how important these areas are to the community and will continue to maintain a visible presence where concerns are raised. Supporting Community EventsOur officers have also been proud to support local community events, including the Ickenham Festival, where we had the opportunity to meet residents, discuss local issues, and strengthen relationships within the community. These events are invaluable in helping us understand what matters most to the people we serve. Tackling ShopliftingOur officers have also been carrying out targeted activity to tackle shoplifting and support local businesses across Ruislip and Ickenham. Through high-visibility patrols, engagement with retailers, and proactive action against known offenders, the team has worked to deter theft and improve confidence within our shopping areas. Shoplifting has a significant impact on businesses, staff and customers, and we remain committed to identifying offenders, pursuing enforcement opportunities and working closely with local retailers to address this issue. We encourage businesses and members of the public to continue reporting incidents, as the information provided helps us build intelligence and take positive action against those responsible.
