Motorcycle Stolen & Recovered

On Sunday 2nd August 2026, Chelsfield Ward officers PC Sevenoaks, PCSO Sandhu and other SNT officers were on patrol when a 999 call was circulated for a motorcycle being stolen on Charterhouse Road. The 999 was called at 09:58am, and officers were on scene at 10:01am. Officers had a idea where the stolen motorcycle might be heading, and at around 10:05am the motorcycle was found abandoned in Goddington Park. The motorcycle was recovered by officers and it was returned to it's owner. No suspects have been identified at this stage.

Motorcycles remain a target for thieves, but a few simple steps can make your bike far less attractive to criminals:

✅ Always lock your bike, even if leaving it for a short time. Use a quality disc lock, chain and padlock, or both.

✅ Secure it to an immovable object wherever possible. A locked motorcycle can still be lifted into a van if it isn't anchored.

✅ Park in a well-lit, busy location or a secure garage. Thieves prefer places where they are less likely to be seen.

✅ Consider additional security measures such as alarms, immobilisers, tracking devices and motorcycle covers.

✅ Remove keys and valuables every time you leave your bike unattended.

✅ Mark and register your motorcycle and its parts using a recognised property marking scheme.

✅ Stay alert and report any suspicious behaviour around motorcycles or parked vehicles.
