Motorcycle Theft Prevention Advice
🏍️ Protect your motorcycle from theft Motorcycles remain a target for thieves, but a few simple steps can make your bike far less attractive to criminals: ✅ Always lock your bike, even if leaving it for a short time. Use a quality disc lock, chain and padlock, or both. ✅ Secure it to an immovable object wherever possible. A locked motorcycle can still be lifted into a van if it isn't anchored. ✅ Park in a well-lit, busy location or a secure garage. Thieves prefer places where they are less likely to be seen. ✅ Consider additional security measures such as alarms, immobilisers, tracking devices and motorcycle covers. ✅ Remove keys and valuables every time you leave your bike unattended. ✅ Mark and register your motorcycle and its parts using a recognised property marking scheme. ✅ Stay alert and report any suspicious behaviour around motorcycles or parked vehicles.
If you see suspicious activity, report it to police. In an emergency, or if a crime is in progress, call 999.
