From 8th–11th July, you'll spot a few more police officers than usual around Walpole Park and the surrounding area as CAMRA Live's famous Beer Festival rolls into town.
While you're busy debating whether your 7th "half pint" really counts as a full drink, we'll be out conducting high-visibility patrols to tackle: 🚫 Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG)
We're also being joined by our colleagues from Operation Vigilant, whose specially trained officers are experts at spotting suspicious behaviour and keeping people safe, allowing everyone to enjoy the festival for the right reasons.
🍺 Festival Survival Tips🔑 Keep your belongings close – pickpockets love festivals almost as much as ale enthusiasts do. 💧 Alternate alcoholic drinks with water – your future self will thank you. 📱 Keep your phone charged and let friends or family know when you've arrived, when you're leaving, and when you're safely home. 🥤 Don't accept drinks or food from strangers – unless they're offering a packet of crisps and a life-changing lottery ticket. (Still don't accept it.) 🚌 Plan your journey home before that "just one more pint" seems like a sensible idea. Most importantly, have a fantastic time, stay safe, and if you see us out and about, don't be shy—come and say hello. We don't bite... and unlike some festival-goers, we can usually walk in a straight line. 😉
