We are seeing misuse of items such as catapults, projectiles, and makeshift weapons causing harm to wildlife and risking injury to others.
This is not harmless behaviour—it can be criminal and dangerous. ✔ Wildlife is protected under law—it is an offence to cause unnecessary suffering ✔ The Five Freedoms: animals should be free from hunger, pain, fear, discomfort, and distress ✔ Catapults/projectiles used irresponsibly can cause serious injury ✔ Carrying or using weapons—even improvised—can lead to arrest Responsible pet ownership matters too: ✔ Never leave dogs in hot cars—temperatures rise rapidly ✔ Keep dogs on leads where others may feel unsafe ✔ Always clean up after your dog—it affects health and community wellbeing Report wildlife harm, weapon use, or dangerous behaviour—small details help prevent bigger incidents.
