I wanted to provide you an update regarding Shoplifting, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. Good morning Queens Gate,
I hope everyone is staying cool!
Today I was out on foot patrol alongside the Chief Inspector Adam Brown for Kensington and Chelsea, focusing on reassuring the public and maintaining a visible presence in the area. It was a great opportunity for the Chief Inspector to see first-hand what PCSOs and police officers do on a daily basis to help keep people safe.
During the patrol, we successfully reunited a lost dog with its owner and had the opportunity to speak with several local residents. These conversations were really valuable, and we also received information regarding some recent offences in the local area, one of which was a shop lifting/use of drugs in M&S on Kensington High Street. Your engagement and support are greatly appreciated β please continue to report any concerns or information, as it helps us keep the community safe especially through our new platform which is called Met Engage.
It was also lovely saying hello to local school children along the way.
Lastly, please remember to keep cool and stay hydrated as itβs going to be very hot over the next few days.

Shoplifting is a crime that can have a substantial negative impact on local businesses across London. If you notice anything suspicious or witness anyone shoplifting, please report it as soon as possible. These reports are invaluable in letting us build a picture of when and where shop lifters operate, meaning we can be in the right place at the right time to arrest those responsible. For more guidance, see our page on how to spot a shoplifter. We are working on our brand-new strategy for how we police London and we want your help. Our New Met for London: Phase 2 strategy will guide how we deliver on behalf of Londoners over the next three years. |
