Arrest on Upper Park Road

On Saturday 9th May at 2:00pm, officers from Gospel Oak attended Woodfield and Barnfield to conduct a ‘Meet in the Street’ event.

By 2:10pm, no one had approached to speak with us, so officers patrolled the immediate area.  While on Upper Park Road at the junction with Tasker Road, PCSO Hennigan identified a male who was wanted for failing to appear at court for three offences.

The male was stopped by PC Chambers, PC Moloobhoy and PS McCann.  Once checks confirmed he wanted, the male was arrested.  During the arrest, it became apparent that he was experiencing withdrawal symptoms from drugs that he had previously taken. Officers therefore took him directly to hospital so he could receive the appropriate medical treatment.

PC Chambers and PC Moloobhoy remained with the male at the hospital and approximately five hours later, he was conveyed to Islington Police Station, where he remains in custody pending his appearance at court on Monday morning.
