The Hyde Park Ward of Met Police targeting Bocus Police

Yesterday, Hyde Park Police carried out targeted patrols around the Paddington area, focusing on Bogus police.

Bogus police target vulnerable people and tourists, pretending to be police officers and stealing their money.

Officers carried out stops and searches and gathered information to prevent such incursions.

Please be aware of the following crime prevention advise:

To check if a police officer is real, ask for their name, rank, and identification (warrant card), then call the non-emergency number 101 (or 999 if in immediate danger) to verify their identity with the local police force 

 
Police will continue to patrol the area for reassurance  and crime prevention .
