Weapons Dealer Arrested

Waddon SNT, led by PC Georgia Banner, have taken decisive action to disrupt the illegal supply of weapons in the community as part of Operation ATEAMNU. 

On Wednesday 11th March, officers from Waddon SNT, supported by TSG, carried out a proactive investigation into the suspected importation of CS gas to an address on the ward. Officers conducted a rapid entry at two addresses in Croydon and Surrey, where a suspect was detained and arrested on suspicion of importing CS.

A subsequent search of the suspect’s home address recovered a substantial haul of offensive weapons, including:

Enquiries so far indicate that the suspect had been actively selling weapons online, using WhatsApp as part of this operation to supply items to individuals potentially involved in serious violence.

The suspect gave a full admission, including the importation of CS gas and possession of all the offensive weapons found.

The investigation remains ongoing, with officers continuing to progress several active lines of enquiry.

This operation highlights the excellent proactive policing and partnership working, preventing a significant number of dangerous weapons from reaching the streets and helping keep the community safe.
