I wanted to provide an update regarding drug dealing / drug use, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.
I wanted to provide you with an update from yesterday’s (Monday 9th Feb) Walk, Talk, Do at the Collingdale Estate. PCSO’s Ourafil & Freeman chose this location due to reports we have received from residents living close by. Issues concerning youths using the children’s playground to engage in drug taking/dealing activity has been widely reported and we at the Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) have increased patrols in the area. We came across two youths sitting in the play area and engaged in conversation with them until our colleagues arrived from Bethnal Green police station to support us. A search of both subjects was conducted by the police officers from SNT, and drugs were found and confiscated from one suspect. He was issued with a Community Resolution order, and both youths were told not to return to the area and particularly the children’s play area in the future. We are committed to tackling drug dealing and will continue to listen to your concerns and act on them. It is important for us to work collaboratively and if you have any concerns or evidence of drug activity, please report it to us as soon as possible. We are committed to tackling drug dealing wherever we find it. We will keep you updated on our efforts to do this in your area, but if you have any concerns or evidence, it is important you report this as soon as possible.
If you ever experience this issue or have information regarding an incident, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.met.police.uk/, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101.
Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
We are working on our brand-new strategy for how we police London and we want your help. Our New Met for London: Phase 2 strategy will guide how we deliver on behalf of Londoners over the next three years. | ||
