Tower Hamlets Taskforce and THEO joint patrols Sunday 01/02/26
Upon arrival of Tower Hamlets Taskforce and council THEOs the street Sclater Street / Fusion Court was cluttered with illegal street trading and very well-known class A users on both sides of the pavements.
During the operation there were 4 x Stop and Searches (3 x sec 1 PACE 1984 for stolen property and 1 x sec 23 MDA 1971 for drugs) 3 x ASB warnings issued to suspected street sellers (2x from police & 1 x from THEOs) 2 males were found selling bicycles on the pavement of SCLATER STREET. Both searched under S1 PACE, no stolen goods or illegal items found directly on them. Serial numbers were checked on police systems, not reported as stolen. Both issued with ASBW and dispersed.
Member of public approached officers and stated they found a large kitchen knife in the car park in SCLATER STREET E1. Checks were conducted and there was no offences to link the knife to. No blood on the knife and forensic opportunities due to being exposed to the elements. Knife seized and marked up for disposal. (shared for officer safety when THEOs attend the location)
Below is an image of the area cleared of any illegal street trading and those responsible for crime and ASB at the location. Residents from FUSION COURT approached officers providing really good positive feedback from THEO/Police actions. Cleaning services attended and cleared all rubbish making the area look clean and tidy for local residents and businesses.
