Good Morning Borough and Bankside.

Firstly it was a pleasure to attend my first Ward Panel Meeting with you and meet some of you. It would be great at the next one to see even more of the community.

I wanted to update you with some GOOD NEWS. PCSO Riley Dann recognised a prolific shoplifter on Blackfriars Road acting suspiciously. The male had ridden up to a supermarket and when he was about to enter the store was checking who was observing him. On sighting PCSO Dann the male got back on his bike and cycled away. PCSO Dann did some due diligence and requested an intelligence check on the male as he believed that he had a Community Protection Notice banning him from being the the London Borough of Southwark and also from being in possession of a bike. Not only was PCSO Dann correct but the male was also wanted on warrant for a Recall to Prison.

PCSO Dann made efforts to trace the male and located him outside Southwark Tube Station. PCSO Dann requested assistance over the radio having detained the male. He liaised directly with PC Kyriacou who attended and arrested the male. This male has since been charged for the breach of Community Protection Notice and is this morning awaiting a transfer to court. From court he will be returned to prison for breaching his licence conditions.

Some great work by the team and we endeavour to continue our work in tackling shoplifting and thefts across the ward. I want to highlight how important it is for our officers to have such good local knowledge like our PCSO Riley Dann. It really helps to know our prolific offenders and their conditions.
