BCU Commendation Award for PC Ollie Burnell - Officer of the Year 2025

On the 14th of November 2025 PC Ollie Burnell from the Totteridge & Woodside ward team received a commendation award from the BCU Commander for his hard work and dedication to policing throughout the year. 

During 2025 - Ollie had arrested the highest amount of suspects out of all officers within the borough often working up to 18hour shifts, had the highest stop and search figures and had continuous high levels of performance. He was responsible for seizing over £500,000 worth of imported drugs destined for the streets of Totteridge and Barnet and was the recipient of a letter from a young person who was in possession of knives and actively self-harming in the street, Ollie recovered the weapons from the child and stayed with them for 12 hours in hospital until they got appropriate care. This was just one of many jobs in which Ollie received recognition for during the ceremony. As part of his award Ollie was personally invited to New Scotland Yard by The Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley on New Years Eve. 

Ollie received the award from Det Chief Superintendent Williams and Chief Inspector Condren and hopefully has an equally excellent 2026!
