Redbridge Neighbourhood Policing Newsletter |

Welcome to the first issue of the Redbridge Neighbourhood Policing Newsletter I’m Acting Chief Inspector Dave Holgate, responsible for Neighbourhood Policing in Redbridge. I’ve proudly served in frontline policing throughout my career, and I remain deeply committed to reducing crime and increasing public confidence in our policing services. Our approach is shaped by the priorities set by you—our residents. We’re taking robust action against those who commit crime and anti-social behaviour that disrupts lives across our borough. Community engagement is central to our work. It’s about building trust, listening to concerns, and working together to find meaningful solutions. Our officers continue to work closely with Redbridge Council, housing providers, and other partners to address issues such as anti-social behaviour and drug-related crime. We’re focused not just on enforcement, but on prevention—ensuring long-term improvements for our communities. This month, I’ve attended several public events and met with community leaders to hear directly from residents. We’re committed to improving how we engage, making sure we’re visible, accessible, and accountable across all parts of Redbridge. Our policing priorities reflect the crimes that cause the greatest harm. Knife crime remains a key concern, and we understand the devastating impact it can have. We’re working closely with support services and community groups to ensure victims receive the help they need, and offenders are brought to justice. We’re also taking proactive steps to tackle violence against women and girls, which has sadly increased in recent years. This remains a priority for me and my teams. Restoring trust and confidence—both within our communities and among our partners—is central to our mission. We’re reviewing how we engage to ensure we have a real presence in every neighbourhood, and we’re building towards having the most impactive neighbourhood policing teams across Redbridge. You have some fantastic officers, staff, volunteers, and partners working hard every day to keep Redbridge safe. I believe we have a real opportunity to make a lasting difference, and I look forward to working with you to make that happen. October Highlights: Get Involved We want to deliver the policing that local residents want. Please reach out to your local ward team to help shape policing in Redbridge.
