Extra Patrols and Dispersal Powers |

We understand that this time of year often brings concerns about anti-social behaviour, particularly around Halloween and Bonfire Night. To keep our community safe, we have increased the number of officers on duty, and teams have been working later into the evening on key dates from 31 October until 9 November to respond quickly and deal with any issues. In addition and leading up to this period, we have conducted joint visits with Trading Standards at retail venues to ensure legislation relating to the sale of Fireworks is complied with. We continue to work closely in partnership with Tower Hamlets Local Authority across the borough to provide reassurance, ensure our resources are in the right place at the right time, and maintain a safe environment for everyone. As part of these measures, a Section 35 dispersal order has been authorised under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 for the Isle of Dogs between 5pm on Wednesday 5 November and 5am on Thursday 6 November. This order allows officers to direct individuals causing harassment, alarm, or distress to leave the area. Should issues arise or information suggest further dispersal orders are required elsewhere on Tower Hamlets, this will be put in place. If you witness anti-social behaviour or have concerns, please report it to us immediately. Thank you for your support, and if you have any specific concerns, please contact your local Safer Neighbourhood Team. Chief Inspector Chris Brown | ||
