Seven Sisters crime statistics - August |
||
Good afternoon Seven Sisters residents. I just wanted to provide you with a summary of the crime statistics for Seven Sisters Ward for August:
The total number of offences recorded in August were 126. This is an increase from 110 recorded in July, however significantly lower that the peak of 162 offences recorded in May. There has been an increase in reported burglaries from 6 offences in July to 5 in August. Personal Robbery has seen a noticeable increase from 3 offences in July to 13 offences in August. The team are working together with our Proactive teams to identify and target offenders. Theft offences are down from 26 in July to 23 in August. Violence offences have shown a reduction from 28 offences in July to 25 in August. Motor Vehicle crime (theft from a vehicle) has reduced from 10 offences in July to 6 in August.
With Autumn now upon us and the nights drawing in, we historically see an increase in theft from person and robbery offences. When exiting public transport hubs please “Look up, Look out”, be aware of your surroundings and keep personal devices out of sight of potential thieves. The ward team continue to work hard to tackle offences highlighted above along with other neighbourhood issues. Please reach out to the team directly via Met Engage or come and meet the team in person at one of the Engagement events.
Thank you.
