July crime report

Please find the crime report for July below.

 

Burglary 

 

03/07-09/07 – Hospital Bridge Road -  Victim has discovered their bicycle stolen from their garage. 

08/07 -12/07 – Conway Road – Suspects have broken padlock on the victims garage and pried the door open to gain entry. Power tools stolen.

28/07 – Hospital Bridge Road – Entry has been gained to the property via an unlocked rear door whilst the victim was out. Unknown if any property has been stolen

 

Prevention  - When keeping valuables in garage, tools, bicycles etc is it possible to lock those  things to fixed points? Can tools be in a locked container within the garage or shed? Can a bicycle be locked the floor or the wall of the garage or shed?

 

Theft from motor vehicle

 

There have been five theft from motor vehicle incidents reported in July. In four of those, the vehicles were found to have no damage done to them and believed left unlocked. Property such as bank cards, wallet, a badminton racket and electric fan were amongst the things stolen.

One vehicle which was damaged contained work tools that were stolen.

 

Prevention – The people who steal from cars are opportunists. They travel down a road and try to open as many car doors as they can in the hope that one is left unlocked. Once inside they will steal almost anything. Do not leave ANYTHING inside your vehicles, especially over night.

 

 

Theft of motor vehicle

 

05/07 – Albemarle Avenue – Victim had their moped stolen from their driveway

 

Robbery 

 

26/07 –10pm-11pm -  Hanworth Road – Victim reporting that ,whilst using their mobile phones, they were approached by two males who demanded that they hand both phones over. An altercation occurred and one of the mobile phones were stolen.

 

 

Bicycle theft

 

04/07  - Outside Whitton Corner health care centre – Bicycle left locked and secured at location. Victim returned to find locks cut and bicycle stolen

12/07 – Outside of Twickenham school – Victim was attending a weekend sports class at the school and left bicycle locked and secured. Victim returned to find lock cut and bicycle stolen.

25/07 – Montrose Avenue – Victim has been using their garage during the day but left the door open. They have seen a bicycle on their property not belonging to them, have gone out to investigate and have found their own bicycle missing from their garage.
