Attempted Residential Burglary of Home

Dear Resident,

 

The following incident occurred on Thursday 31st July 2025 at 03:00 hours on FLEETWOOD ROAD, KINGSTON, victim (female) order a takeaway and the food was delivered and left outside front door. 10 minutes after delivery the victim came to the front door to retrieve the food order. As the victim was opening the front door a male suspect started pushing on the door to attempting to push through. Victim (female) quickly and forcefully managed to shut and lock the front door call the 999. 

 

Male suspect has left prior to police arrival. Area searched was conducted by officers with no trace of suspect.

 

Suspect description, MALE, approximate age 30 years old, balding, medium built, pale complexion middle eastern, height

unknown.

 

If a person is forcing their way through your door, immediately call 999. Do not attempt to confront the person yourself. Focus on your safety and the safety of anyone else in the home. 

 

After calling 999:

  • Get to safety:

    • If possible, move away from the door and into a secure room, and lock the door behind you.

  • Stay calm:

    • Try to remain calm and observe the situation to provide details to the police.

  • Do not engage:

    • Avoid any direct confrontation with the person forcing entry.

  • Note details:

    • If you can safely observe, make note of the suspect's appearance, clothing, and any distinguishing features, as well as the direction they went after entering.

  • Wait for the police:

    • Stay where you are and wait for the police to arrive. They will assess the situation and take appropriate action. 

     

    Important reminders:

  • If in doubt, keep them out: Never open your door to someone you don't know or trust. 

    •  

  • Install security measures: Consider installing security features like door chains, viewers, and reinforced doors and locks. 

    •  

  • Be aware of bogus callers: Always be cautious of unexpected callers, especially those claiming to be from utility companies or other services. 

    •  

  • Report suspicious activity: If you see anything or anyone suspicious, report it to the police. 

    •  

    Please be vigilant and report any suspicious activities in the area. You can report by calling 101 for non - emergency or always 999 if a crime in progress with you or someone in immediate danger.
