Local Priorities Violent crime Message

I wanted to provide you an update regarding Violent crime, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

On Saturday 22nd February 2025 officers from Hounslow Central SNT and Cranford SNT attended an address in BERKELEY AVENUE, HOUNSLOW, TW4 6LA in order to conduct an arrest enquiry for Davinder JOHAL who was wanted for failing to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates Court on the 20th February 2025. During a search for Davinder JOHAL on the floor behind the door found was a black canister with the words Mace Pepper Gel on it which the officer suspected to be a Section 5 Firearm. The canister was seized and sent to the lab and contained a prohibited substance capsaicinoids which is a device that discharges a noxious substance and is therefore subject to Section 5(1)(b) of the Firearms Act 1968.
JOHAL was arrested by Hounslow Town Centre Team on 08/03/2025 on Bath Road, Hounslow as he was wanted for failing to appear for two theft warrants and for the Possession of the firearm. At Uxbridge Magistrates Court on the 17th July 2025 JOHAL pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a conditional discharge for 6 months and pay a fine.
