Information regarding car meets

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding dangerous driving and speeding, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

With the summer in full swing, we know car meets may be looking to start up in Uxbridge, especially at night. We want to take this time to remind you of the local council PSPO restrictions on these meetings for your awareness:

(a) No person shall participate in a car meet as a driver or passenger being carried in or on a motor vehicle.
(b) No person shall congregate to spectate a car meet.
(c) No person shall use any water outlet for the purpose of flooding the road to facilitate performance of stunts at a car meet.
(d) No person shall promote, organise or publicise a car meet (including but not limited to via email, the internet, social media, or any publication or broadcast medium).

If someone is driving a motor vehicle, they should always be doing so in a safe and considerate manner. Even momentary lapses in judgement can have life changing or devastating consequences for those in the vehicle or innocent bystanders.
