Green Lane ward priorities update for May

Dear Resident

Quick update on how we are doing on our priorities in May

- Burglary – One reported in Thetford Road at a house under renovation with nobody living in it at the time. A second one at café on Kingston Road where the suspect has gone behind the counter and taken the contents of the till.

With your help we have managed to keep these very low so if you see suspicious people near houses or prowlers in the gardens keep calling it in on 999.

- Drugs – One direct stop of a person with cannabis on them in Grayham Road. They were issued a community resolution (lowest sanction available and if behavior continues then fines and prosecution follow). Officers currently paying particular attention to Green Lane near the shops and the alleys by the railway lines and Georgia Road.

- Motor Vehicle Crime – A set of number plates were stolen from a car on South Lane. A BMW was taken overnight with the suspects using the electronic relays to get a signal to the car keys kept in the house to open and start the car. There was some success on 14th May when a vehicle stolen from a nearby ward was chased by Police and a man was arrested.

We are currently looking for members to join the ward panel meeting which sits every 3 months and sets ward priorities for the Green Lane team. If you would like to join this and have more detailed updates then please contact me.
